Thanks so much to all who contributed and helped us spread virtual holiday cheer last year!!!
The AHC (Autistic/Handicapped Children) of Central Florida, Inc., is a non profit 501 (c) 3 organization that has held an annual Children’s Holiday Season Party for the past 40 years. It began in 1973 as a small event started by Orlando resident Frank Kral, an administrator at Mid Florida Tech, in his backyard. With many local business partnerships, along with the support of the County School District, it has grown into a large annual event hosting up to 1500 children each year. Children with special needs from Central Florida School Districts are invited and transported on a field trip, at no charge, to a holiday party where they are provided a day of outdoor fun including boat rides, pony rides, games, petting zoo, visits with firefighters, police officers and of course Santa and picnic lunch. Each guest leaves with a gift bag filled with toys and candy. This is a special day for these children who deserve so much.
The party is managed and operated solely by volunteers and through donations of goods and cash funds. It provides a wonderful opportunity for community involvement as well as a way for high school students to earn volunteer hours for college scholarships through the many volunteer positions needed.
Please take a moment to look at pictures and notes from children from previous year's parties at the Galleries tab above. We would love for you to "like" us on facebook as well.
Thank you in advance to the many volunteers and sponsors that are supporting this wonderful children's event. We look forward to seeing everyone again soon!
